A Peshva officer named Kanitkar renovated this old Mahadev temple. The temple has a 12 sq-ft image chamber and 12 pillars that support a flat roof. A small stone basin located to the north of the image chamber (gabhara), has a continuous flow of water through a spring that is believed to be one of the mouths of Sarasvati. This water is used to wash the Shivling.
