Legend and Stories
Amid the outcast time of Sri Ramachandra, Sri Lakshmana and Sita Devi, it so happened that they needed to stay in a spot inside the forest called Perallasseri. Amid this stay, it so happened that Hanuman likewise had the gift to stay with this awesome gathering in this spot for at some point. The tribal individuals who were in this woodland, after knowing the celestial force of this gathering began to give all the help expected to them. They started to go to this gathering for their favors. Seeing this Hanuman needed to make a sanctuary in this area for the general population to appeal to Sri Ramachandra and Sita Devi for gifts and expelling this agony. On listening to Hanuman's solicitation, Sri Rama told Hanuman that they are in a state of banishment and of the Human structure and henceforth making an icon of them is not right as indicated by the Shasthras.
Sri Rama recommended an option, saying that if Hanuman could locate a proportionate vigraham (symbol), Sri Rama would do the prathishta in the same area. Hanuman pondered this for quite a while and found that the main icon that will be proportionate to Sri Rama and Sita Devi together will be the Valli Parinaya Subramaniyan. Through his njana drishti (sixth sense), Hanuman found that he could discover this vigraham from Sarayu River in Northern piece of Bharatha (India).
Sri Hanuman informed Sri Rama concerning his thought for which, Sri Rama quickly concurred with a lovely grin telling the right minute for the service. Subsequent to stating farewell to all, Sri Hanuman quickly began to get the vigraham from Sarayu River before the settled time. Nonetheless, since Hanuman was ignorant of his boundless quality and force, he took more opportunity to discover the vigraham.
As the time drew closer, Sri Rama, not seeing Hanuman, chose to do the prathishta with his Peruvala (vast bangle). That is the reason this spot came to be known as Peruvalasseri and later Perallasseri. Instantly after the prathishta function was over, Hanuman came back with the symbol and seeing the service got over, he turned out to be extremely pitiful. Seeing the tears and parama bhakhi of Hanuman, Sri Rama requested that he introduce the vigraham one foot West of the current prathishta. In addition Sri Rama advised everybody that to get his favors, any individual who implores at Perallasseri needs to supplicate at Makreri too else the petitions goes unanswered.
Listening to this Hanuman turned out to be exceptionally cheerful and instantly introduced the symbol one foot West. However to do the prathishta service and for the pujas, he couldn't discover punya theertham (blessed water) and consequently he utilized his capable tail to crush on the ground to make a chira (a little lake containing punya theertham).
Since the fundamental thanthri is Hanuman himself's identity a punya athma, the prathishta got wild power. Keeping in mind the end goal to control this force and additionally to give day by day darshan to parama bhakta hanuman, Sri Rama took His unique type of Maha Vishnu sand introduced himself on the three sides of the sanctuary.
