Overview
Chinmalli Mallikarjuna Temple is a charming place of worship located at Chinmalli, around 50 km from Gulbarga, in Karnataka. This twelfth century altar is settled on the banks of Bhima River. Chinmalli Mallikarjuna Temple reveres Lord Shiva as the managing divinity. A wonderful Shivling is mounted in the sanctum sanctorum of the sanctuary. The sanctuary has a wonderful octagon lobby.
As per an engraving, the Yadava dynasty lord Ramachandra's better half Mahamandaleshwari Mayi offered charities to the sanctuary. Another engraving portrays the technique for offering puja to Mallikarjuna.
Festivals
The annual festival usually held in January is a major attraction. The ‘footwear procession,’ held once in three years on the previous day of Sankranti, attracts thousand s of devotes from far a near.
