To the south of the town of Satara lies a steep-sided, flat-topped hill fort. On the fort are a few barren ponds, some small buildings and a dilapidated palace built by Peshva Bajirav (1796-1817). The temple of Manglai Devi, the guardian deity of the fort, is the only well maintained building in the fort.
