Compound walls on 3 sides surround the black stone Markandesvar mandir situated on the Krsna ghat. There are 3 openings to enter the courtyard on the ghat but officially, there is only one entrance. 4 pillars support the mandap. Niches holding idols of Vitthal, Rakhumai, Ganapati and Ambabai are present near the gabhara's entrance. Floral patterns carved on blocks of stone surround the gabhara's entrance and a sikhar crowns the gabhara. The ling can be reached after descending a few steps. Open dome-like structures are present at the extreme ends of the well-maintained Krsna ghat. A small canopy houses a Nandi opposite the shrine and the temple also has a tulsi vrndavan.
