Overview
This temple is situated near Dharali in Uttarkashi District and also called Mukhwa. During the onset of winter on the Diwali day, the idol of Goddess Ganga, from the famous Gangotri Temple, is shifted to this temple. During this time, the Gangotri Temple closes down due to snowfall. The idol of Ganga is worshipped here for six months. In summer, it is taken back to the Gangotri Temple in a procession. The River Ganges flows near the shrine. One can find Tapovan, Gangotri, Vasuki Tal and Chirbasa nearby.
