Overview
Located at a stature of 1468m over the ocean level and at a separation of 60 km from Bangalore towards devanahalli is the Nandi Hills. It was one of the mid-year retreats of Tipu Sultan. Tipu's Drop, a 600 meter high soak slope, where detainees were tossed with brutality down the lofty slope is an astounding sight to see here. Aside from this spot there are sanctuaries committed to Sri Ugra Narasimha and Sri Yoga Narasimha on this slope.
About the Temple
On the highest point of the slope, there are sanctuaries devoted to Sri Ugra Narasimha and Sri Yoga Narasimha. On the lower slope there is a sanctuary committed to Sri Bhoga Narasimha. Nandi is accepted to be the mount of Lord Shiva. The Nandi Bull Statue is situated there, subsequently the name Nandi Hilll was given. There are 2 Nandi Temples, one is at the foot slopes of the town and the other is at the highest point of the slopes. The sanctuary at the base was worked by Banas who was the Ruler then. Legend and Stories
There is an antiquated sanctuary of Yoga Nandeeswara at the slope top. A post was likewise constructed, covering 90 sections of land.
