Overview
Padmalaya is a village situated 10 km from Erandol in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra and 31.5 km from Jalgaon, in the scenic natural surroundings of the mountain.
About the Temple
This temple is located at the top of a hill. This temple was renovated by Sadguru Govind Maharaj in 1912(Shake 1834).This temple has very beautifully carved exterior and interior. The padukas of Shree Govind Maharaj are located in front of the temple. There is a huge bell next to the padukas.
About the Deity
Padmalaya is blessed with the two self-existent "Swayambhu" Ganesh idols in the sanctum, named "Aamod" and "Pramod", there are two (Swayambhu) Ganesh idols. These idols consisted of Coral(Praval). Both the idols are sitting on single platform called as ‘Vyaspeeth”. One idol has its trunk (Sond) curving to the right and the other to the left. Both the idols have silver crown.
Legend and Stories
According to legend, the warrior Bhim has had a battle with Rakshas Bakasur and Bakasur was killed by Bhim. Bhim was very thirsty after the wresting so he hit his elbow very forcefully on the ground to form a small pond of fresh water. The place is called bhimkund and is near to Padmalaya temple. Bhimkund is very beautiful place with lots of herbs and medicinal plants around the area within Padmalaya Temple Reservoir.

The nearest airport is Chikkalthana Airport, Aurangabad. Chavalkhede Rail Way Station is nearest railway station with 12 km. Bhusaval railway station is with 55 km. MSRTC buses and rikshaws are available. This temple is located 5 km from Erandol, 32 km from Jalgaon, 25 km from Parola, 64 km from Dhule.
