The Pallikonda Perumal Temple is located in Pallikondan and is dedicated to God Pallikonda Perumal. The God is known as Pallikondan as He willingly took the reclining form here. He is also known as Uthara Ranganathar.This temple has separate shrines for Mother Ranganayaki, Acharya Udayavar, God Sri Rama, God Navaneetha Kannan, Sri Andal, Sri Anjaneya, Acharya Manavala Mamunigal, Sri Garuda Bhagwan, Saint Kulasekhara Azhwar and Saint Nammzhwar. This place is 2 kms away from the Beejachalam hills. According to legends, Mothers Sri lakshmi and Saraswati had an argument on their supremacy. They went to God Brahma to settle their argument. He declared Sri lakshmi to be superior and this infuriated Saraswati who left Brahma and came to Sasia hills on Earth to perform penance to attain supremacy. God Brahma around that time arranged for a Yagna dedicated to God Vishnu but this could not be done without the spouse near by. Brahma called Saraswati to attend the yagna but she refused as a result of which he created a lady with the characteristics of Sarawati, by the name Savitiri and married her. This angered Saraswati more that she took the form of River Ksheera Nadhi and began flooding the yagna place. God Brahma asked Vishnu for help, who sent Adisesha to block the flood. He then went to Saraswati and explained to her that Savitri was no different from here and later joined God Brahma and Sarawati together.
