Panayannar Kavu Shiva Tample

The Panayannar Kavu Bhadrakali temple is located in Kerala and is dedicated to God Shiva. It is situated on the bank of the Pampa River near Mannar. This temple is situated at a distance of one kilometer from parumala junction in the Thiruvalla Mavelikkara Road. Although this temple is one of the 108 Shivalayams, Bhadrakali is more famous than God Shiva, here. Here, Kali is called Panayannarkkavilamma. There are other Shivalayams in Kerala such as Thirumandamkunnu, Kodungalloor, Kumaranalloor and Chengannoor where the main Pratishta is Shiva but the importance is for Bhagavati. Panayannarkkavu is among the three great Kali temples in Kerala. The other two are Thirumandhamkunnu and Kodungalloor. Mandala Pooja, Shivarathri, Vishu and Thulam Aayilyam are the main festivals celebrated here. The Panayannarkavu North Nada of Chantadum Bhagavathy, Panayannarkavu West Nada of Shiva and the east facing Sreekovil of Bhadrakali are significant places here
