Overview
The main blessed place in the city of Mahabaleshwar is named as Panchganga Mandir. This is the heavenly place that gets sacred water from five waterways named Koyna, Venna, Gayatri, Krishna and Savitri. This union of five streams gives this place its name Panchganga in which exacting significance of Panch is five and Ganga is the name of Holy River. The water of the considerable number of streams tosses the mouth of dairy animals that has been cut from stone.
About The Temple
Raja Singhandeo of Yadav tradition of Devgiri amid thirteenth century fabricated this sanctuary. Later, amid sixteenth century, Maratha Emperor Shivaji adjusted this sanctuary. Sanctuary has been given to Lord Krishna and enhances a delightful symbol of Lord Krishna. The historical backdrop of the sanctuary was connected to the revile that Savitri provided for the Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu otherwise called Trimurtis who stream around there with the names of Koyna, Venna and Krishna separately.
