- Tell us about this temple
The Pandurangam Temple is located in Thennangur and is dedicated to God Panduranga. This temple has a 120 feet high tower facing the east that stands regal like the pattern on the Puri Jagannath temple tower. The golden kalasas are 9.5 feet bearing Sudarsana Chakras on them. There is a 16 columned Maha Mandap with Baghwan Garuda in the centre. God Govindaraja Perumal blesses devotees from here in the wedding festival as in Tirupathi excluding Saturdays. The orthodox sampradaya of South and the Bajan Sampradaya of North are both followed in this temple. The temple structure is similar to Pandaripuram temple in Maharashtra with God Panduranga accompanied by Mother Raghumayee. This temple is now under the authority of his holiness Namanandagiri Swamigal and was erected by the student of his Holiness Gnanananda Swamigal, his Holiness Haridasgiri Swamigal. The Brindavan of his Holiness Gnanananda Swamigal is very pleasing to the environment. The temple follows Nama Sangeerthana principles as they believe that music takes us nearer to God.
