This temple is located in the Rathnagiri District of Maharashtra.
About The Temple
This temple offered an unrestricted right to any member of Hindu community. This temple is known, not by the names of deities in the temple but, by the name 'Patit-Pawan', given by Saavarkar (an Indian freedom fighter) himself, illustrating the object behind the temple. It is known National Pilgrim Centre of Social Equality.
Legends and Stories
Saavarkar firmly believed and propagated that no person is depressed, untouchable or 'Patit' by birth. t. It was at the instance of Veer Saavarkar that Shri Bhagoji Sheth Keer, a kind hearted and generous businessman of Rathnagiri built this temple in 1931. The installation ceremony was performed on February 22nd 1931. Through this temple, Saavarkar successfully organized many nation-wide movements to bring about equality in Hindu Society. This temple, known as Patit-Pawan Mandir was the first concrete result of his gigantic efforts.

The annual Ganesh festival that happens in the months of February/March is the best time to visit the temple.
