Radha Ballabh Temple

Overview


Radha Ballabh temple is a temple devoted to Lord Krishna and Radha. The temple is constructed in a place called Chutia which has some historical significance attached to it. The ruins of many ancient buildings dating back to the 2nd century AD found in Chutia, corroborates the fact that the town had in fact served as an important centre in the region.


About The Temple


The Radha Ballabh temple caters to the religious and spiritual needs of the devotees of Lord Krishna in and around Ranchi. Devotees from all around the world throng the temple to celebrate festivals such as Holi and Janmasthami with great enthusiasm and utmost belief on the paramathma (the almighty).

The temple was constructed during the period 1665-1682 by Hari Brahmachari who was the spiritual advisor to the then king of Chotanagpur, Raja Raghu Nath. According to many ancient inscriptions that were found, historians have concluded that Chutia had been the capital of the Nagbanshi rulers for a very long time.

Ranchi being the capital city of Jharkhand, is well connected to several other cities of Jharkand and the neighbouring state of Bihar with adequate and frequent state road transport corporation buses. Bokaro (110 km), Chaibasa (130 km), Dhanbad (170 km), Patna (340 km) and Jamshedpur (140 km) are all connected to Ranchi. Private tourist bus services are also available from Kolkata to Ranchi.
