Overview : The temple main deity is God Vishnu and this temple is located towards the Western side of Sri Varamuktheeswarar temple which is 1 Kilometer towards the west of this temple.It is also said that this temple had a grand look with the Seven Praharams but currently they are vandalized.In this temple the Idol of Moolavar Sri Ramar is made up of a stone which is called as Saligramam stone and in Badhrachala God Rama is found with his Consort.Just besides the Idol of God Rama that is towards its left Sita Devia is placed and Sri Hayagreevar, Sri Narasimhar and Sri Venugopalar sannathis are also present around.Once the wife of God Rama,Sita Devi came to take bath in Kosathalai river which is nearby to this temple, Mahishasuran who came and intruded on her peace.After this Sita was scared and came running to God Ram and sat on the left thigh of God Rama.As Mahishasuran has already broke the penance before and had got a curse from God Shiva that only a women can end his life.It is believed that God Rama placed four of the Dharbai grass in all the four directions which turned out to be the four Devis and they ended the life of Mahisasura.It is said that, even now those four davis are the ones who gurad and protect this village.The four Devis are named as Sri Angala Pramaeswari, Sri Ponniamman, Sri Mulakkal Amman and Sri Kekaithamman or the guarding deities that is the Kaaval Deivam of this village.
