This temple is located at a distance of 22 kms from Panaji at Bandivade, Goa. The presiding deity is Lord Ramnath. Similar to most temples in Goa, the idol here was originally from another temple and was shifted here to prevent getting vandalized by the Portuguese. According to mythology, Lord Rama on killing Ravana was struck with remorse. In order to atone for the sin he installed a Shiv Linga and worshipped it at Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu. This temple is considered equivalent to Rameshwaram. The other deities in this temple include Lord LakshmiNarayan, Goddess Kamakshi, Lord Santeri and Lord Sidhanath. The annual festival or Jatra of the temple is celebrated with pomp and gaiety by the devotees with the traditional Palakhi (palanquin) parading around the temple carrying the idol of the deity.
