Overview
As is the famous temple in Sri Rangam, this temple is dedicated to Sri Ranganatha (Lord Vishnu). The consort of Lord Vishnu, Lakshmi is also worshiped here. There are many temples including the Alwars (Tamil Nadu Vaishnava saints), Seshasaayee Ananta Sayanam with Lord Vishnu reclining on Sesha (five headed snake), and the Tirupati Balaji. Lord Narasimha, Sita-Rama and Laksman, Venugopala and Ramanujacharya are also worshiped in this temple. This temple is managed by priests of the Sri Sampradaya. The temple is constructed in the South Indian Dravidian style.
About the Temple
The construction began in 1845 and was completed in 1851, at the cost of 45 lakh rupees (4.5 million) by Seth Radha Krishna and Seth Govindadasa of Chennai. This is the biggest temple in Vrindavan. The outer wall encloses a nice tank and garden. This temple has eight gopurams in South Indian style. The main entrance is the western gate. There is a 105 feet gopuram, which is completely covered by carvings. There is, a 60 feet high flag staff.
The style of worship in this temple is the system established by Ramanujacharya and the worship is done by South Indian priests. Earlier non-Indians were not allowed enter the main temple area. If you are not an Indian, you can only enter the first two gateways.
About the Deity
Lord Vishnu is resting on the large coils of the Sesha. Not only Lord Vishnu, but in this temple one can worship Lord Narasimha, Goddess Sita, Lord Rama and Lord Laksman, Lord Venugopala and Lord Ramanujacharya.
Festivals
In the month of Chaitra there is a huge Brahmotsava Festival. It is a ten-day festival. Over a hundred thousand people come to this festival. The cart festival is known as Ratha ka Mela. There is a variety of thrones that are used to carry Lord Vishnu like Garuda, Hanuman, Surya, Chandra, a lion, an elephant and a horse.

Airport
Vrindavan does not have an airport. Nearest airport is the Kheria Airport.
Railways
Vrindavan has a railway station but not all the trains stop here. Closest railway station is Mathura which is about 14 Km away.
Road
State buses connect Vrindavan with other cities like Mathura, Agra and Haridwar. There are also direct buses from Delhi to Vrindavan. Most of the buses go to Mathura every half an hour. Vrindavan is just 10 Kms from Mathura.

Timings
During summer, temple opens at 05:30 am till 10:30 am and evening again temple opens at 04:00 pm and closed by 09:00 pm. Aarti is performed two times during a day, one at 05:30 am to 06:00 am and next 06:30 pm to 07:00 pm which is followed by bhog.
During winter, temple opens at 06:00 am to 11:00 am in the morning and 03:30 pm to 08:30 pm in the evening. As usual, aarti is performed two times a day, one at 06:00 am to 06:30 am and next 06:00 pm to 06:30 pm.
