Overview
Sirsi is located in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka and has 1000 Shiva lingas, called the Sahasralinga, across the River Shalmala. These Shiva lingas are scattered across the river and in the middle.
About The Temple
Many devotees throng during Shivaratri, Pradhosha and other special days. This place is not fully developed. So you might not find big hotels or home stays. But this is a must visit place for those seeking mystic experience.
Legend and Stories
Legend says all these shiva lingas were built by Sadashivaraya, king of Sirsi. We can also see so many bulls which are carved in front of the shiva lingas. It’s a very calm and quite spot amidst the lush green nature and best place to get relaxed.

The shiva lingas get immersed in water when there is heavy flow. The best time to visit would be during summer when the water flow is not high.
