Situated in Saudagar Mohalla, the temple of Sankarling is reported to be about 150 years old. The 10’X10’ inner shrine has a tiled floor and the ling is placed in a square wooden frame supported by 4 pillars and has a small circular dome set in metal sheet. The temple jas 22’X44’ sabhamandap and the height of the ceiling is about 15’. There is a boring well in the sabhamandap. A stone idol of Nandi faces the Sankarling and is placed about 4.57m away from it. The sabhamandap has another brass Nandi that is mounted on a 0.76m high pedestal. Beautiful, coloured tiles surround the pedestal on all sides. The temple belongs to the Virsaiva Lingayat community. A pinnacle that has 3 niches one above the other is present above the Sankar ling. Above the pinnacle are four stone idols of monkeys that support the tower above the temple.
