Overview
This temple is located in Narayanpur at a distance of 4 km from Basavakalyan and 77 km from Bidar. It was built in 12th century by the Chalukyas. The temple is situated inside the village amidst residences. At the main entrance there are various sculptures including a hero-stone and a slab with Kannada inscriptions. There are remains of statues of a number of apsaras surrounding the main vimana of the temple. This temple design is similar to Kalmeshwar temple situated in Jalasangvi. It is said that the Hoysalas adopted this design into their designs. The temple got some renovation and preserved from the verge of being completely ruined.
