Overview
Nauhata is an old village, important since the time of Mughal rulers and is presently the head quarters of the block. The village has a Shiva temple about 80 feet high. The temple was damaged in the earthquake of 1934. It was reconstructed by Raja Srinand Singh of Srinagar. There is a grave of Madhav Singh on an earthen mound about 50 feet of height. Madhav Singh had become a martyr in the battle of Ladri Ghat.
