Located at Parkai, The Shivaharkaray Temple is a Shakti Peeth dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Durga. The goddess three eyes fell after she committed SATI. Slayer of the Demon Mahishasur, the Goddess is worshipped as Mahishasuramardin. Her consort,the Hindu God Shiva,is worshipped in Ragi form as Krodhish,personification of anger. Among the 51 Peethas, Shivaharkaray is considered as the third in the list.
