The Sishta Guru Natheswarar Temple is located in Thiruthurayur and is dedicated to God Sishta Guru Natheswarar. When God Shiva got married to Mother Parvathi at Mont Kailash, sage Agasthya was sent by God Shiva to south to balance the level of the earth. The sage installed Shivalingas, on his way, with Ambica to see the wedding. The sage then worshipped God Shiva at this place facing west and Ambica facing North-Vamadeva direction.
