Overview
Srinarayanapuram Maha Vishnu Temple is an ancient Vishnu temple in Kerala, India. It is at Ottur, about 4 km from Adoor. According to legend, the idol worshiped in Sri Narayanapuram Maha Vishnu Temple is approximately 1500 years old. Eroor Pulayannur Mana has the supreme authority of this temple. This temple has a round shaped Srikovil with copper plated nalambalam, Balikkalpura, Chembudhwajam and Anappanthal. The Four handed Maha Vishnu's marvellous idol is facing east, and carries Shangu, Chakra, Gada and Padmam.
Festivals
Srinarayanapuram Temple is known for the annual Dasavatarachartu festival. Dasavatarachartu is a 10 day celebration. Each day, an Avatar of Maha Vishnu from Dasavathara is worshiped. Srinarayanapuram is one of the few Vishnu temples in Kerala where Dasavatarachartu festival is conducted.
