Around one hundred and fifty years ago, a contractor Sri Dunna Veeraswamy Naidu constructed the Eluru - Vijayawada road. During the construction, Lord Anjaneya provided divine direction by appearing in his dream and instructing him to excavate an idol from a particular place. Sri Naidu proceeded to the site indicated by Lord Anjaneya in his dream, along with his labourers. A small excellent divine idol form with Sindhoora decoration was excavated from the very same place where a peepal tree was present. He arranged for a thatched shed at once to facilitate darshan to devotees. Since then, Lord Anjaneya of this kshethra has been fulfilling the desires of the devotees with His blessings.
