The Thandu Mariamman temple is located in Avinashi Road, Coimbatore and is dedicated to Thandu Mariamman. This temple is 500 years old. The Moolavar in the temple is Thandumariamman, and the Urchavar is Akhilandanayaki. The Thala Virutcham is Thuvatti tree. The Theertham comes from spring water. The agamam of this temple is Thirumuai Agama. According to the history of the temple, a soldier in Tippu Sultan army had a dream in which the goddess appeared. She said that she is living in the near by forest. This soldier went in search of the Goddess in the nearby forest and was thrilled to find her there near by neem tree. The soldier, with the help of his friends, constructed a small temple in that place where he found the deity. This temple is patronized by many devotees in and around Coimbatore.
