About The Temple

To stop the dance, God Vishnu threw His Chakra on the body of Goddess Sati which dismembered her body into 52 parts. It is also said that every time God Shiva’s hair touch the earth, there used to be 11 other forms of God Shiva appearing too. God Vishny came in 11 forms as God Shiva did and solaced him and said that His dance would be terrible for entire creations on the earth. Where the 11 forms of God Vishnu appeared at Thirunangur is known to be the places where 11 temples of God Vishnu exist. All these temples are considered to be very close.
