About The Temple
The temple is made up of carved rock slabs, coroneted with motifs. At the entrance there is "Nagarkhana", a place where musical instruments are kept. It looks like a roofed balcony. This structure is a common feature of medieval Maharashtrian architecture. After the arch way is a courtyard. Then comes the temple, with its south-Indian style, high, multi-storied pinnacle.
The "Sabhamandap" is three-chambered. Ten feet high rampart encloses the temple. Between the rampart and the temple there is a garden. Lord Ganapati is seated on a golden throne. It is made up of white quartz. Lord’s trunk is twisted right-wards. He is known as the Valampuri Vinayakar
