The Sundararaja Perumal Temple is located in Sivaganga and is dedicated to God Sundararaja Perumal. This temple is extolled in the songs of Nalayira Divya Prapandam by Vaishnavite Azhwars. The eagle vehicle of the God Garudazhwar is found in front of the sanctum sanctorum. The guardian deity of this temple, the 18th Karuppusami, is same as in the Azhagarkoil temple. This temple was constructed in the 17th century by the Sivaganga Zamin Sundara Pandian, who was a faithful follower of Azhagarkoil and Tirukoshtiyur Perumal. He desired to conduct pujas by join both Pancharatra and Vaikanasa Agamas traditions. According to the Pancharatra code, God Sundararaja Perumal is placed and Soumya Narayana Perumal based on the Vaikanasa principles. The temple construction was completed by Magamu Nachiar after the death of her son, Sundara Pandian. Images of the mother and son can be seen in this temple.
