Overview
Suraj Kund Sunam is a substantial Sun sanctuary, situated toward the east of Sunam city (dated to the Vedic period), around 1.5 kilometers (1 mi) away in the tahsil and sub division of the Sangrur District, was crushed by Timur or Mohammad Ghaznavi. It is additionally said that Saraswati River was streaming adjacent. The Suraj Kund is currently in a derelict condition. It is located on the Ludhiana-Hisar railroad line, and is linked by streest with Patiala (64 kilometers (40 mi)), Sangrur (19 kilometers (12 mi)), Bathinda (114 kilometers (71 mi)), Ludhiana (90 kilometers (56 mi)), and Chandigarh (120 kilometers (75 mi)).
