Tanginath lies in the Dumri block of Gumla District which is renowned for its architectural works and represents art forms dating back to ancient and medieval eras. The temple also has various inscriptions and stone engravings that represent the history of the Ruxelvanshi kings of Surguja, Nagvanshi kings of Chhotanagpur and Barwe kingdom. It sprawls around an area of around 10, 000 sq. m and has stone images of Vishnu, Surya, Lakshmi and Bhavani. The temple complex also includes over 100 Shivalingas placed in an organized manner. This place has a centuries old trident ("trishool") of rustproof iron and is famous for Shivasthali. Tanginath Temple is located on a hill that stands at a height of around 300 feet.
