Tara Devi Temple is situated at Vindhyachal in Mirzapur District of Uttar Pradesh. It lies close to a cremation ground, about 2 kms from Vindhyavasini Devi Temple. Here the presiding deity is Goddess Tara, the Goddess of peace and protection. The temple of Tara Devi is located near burning Ghat or Cremation Ghat (Ramgaya Ghat). Tara is the presiding deity of this temple, who is worshipped here as Maha Samshan Devi (Deity of Cremation) here. This is an important centre for Tantriks.
