The Ranipur-Jharial temple complex, an important archeological site in Balangir district of Orissa, India, is famous for its 64 Yogini hypaethral temple, Indralath temple and Someswar Shiva temple along with numerous other temples. This famous historical site is at a distance of 100 Km from Balangir town and 35 Km from Titlagarh on the way from Sindhekela to Bangomuda. On a large flat rocky surface the 64 Yogini temples are established surrounded by numerous small and medium temples. Ranipur-Jharial houses one among the five existing rare monuments of Hypaethral temples (temples without roofs) dedicated to 64 yoginis in India. The other three are at Hirapur near Bhubaneswar, Khajurao and Bheraghat near Jabalpur and Dudhai near Lalitpur. The images at Ranipur-Jharial are made of sandstone.
