The Tiruvaragunamangai Temple is located in Srivaikuntam and is dedicated to God Vishnu. This is one of the 108 Divyadesa Vaishnava temple and second in the Nava Tirupathi order. Of the Nava Tirupathis, this temple is dedicated to planet moon. The Moolavar here is Vijayaasanapperumaal in a seated posture, with the hood of Aadi Seshan spread over His head, as an umbrella in a manner similar to that at Sree Vaikuntham. Taayaar here is Varagunavalli. This is an east facing temple with a single prakaram. Nammalwar refers to Vishnu's reclining posture at Tiruppulinkudi, his seated posture at Varagunamangai and his standing posture at Vaikuntham in a lone verse in his Tiruvaaimozhi. The temple is situated in the thick forest infested with wild animals and hence only pious Vaishnavate alone visit bearing hardships. The priests also live in nearby safe and convenient places after attending to regular prayer services. Varagunamangai is the place where the God granted darshan to a Brahmin Vedic scholar. As prayed by the Brahmin, God granted darshan as Vijayasayanar. He also graced Agni, Rishi Romasa and Satyavan with his darshan. Of the Nava Tirupathis, this belongs to planet moon. Perumal graces in the temple under the Vijayakoti Vimana (roof-tower).
