Overview
Veera Maruthi Temple is situated at Karkala in Udupi area of Karnataka. This sanctuary is committed to Lord Hanuman, passionate worshippers of Lord Rama. This sanctuary is situated inverse to Shri Venkatramana Temple.
About The Temple
Veer Maruthi Temple was initially developed in year 1539 and redesigned in year 1972. The sanctuary houses a gigantic statue of Lord Hanuman towering more than 15 feet. It is trusted that the statue was revealed from underneath the grounds of Anekere close Karkala. The statue is not the same as the standard with left hand set on the hip while right hand directing towards sky, legs in strolling movement, eyes with furious expression and hair forgoing noticeable all around. It is additionally said that Tipu Sultan was a passionate devotee and had offered silver jewel which can at present be seen around the neck of statue. A yearly presentation of Sri Ram jai Ram Jai Jai Ram is recounted in the time of December.
