Legend and Stories

Indira the ruler of Devas went to Mount Kailash to have Shiva darshan with the pride of a lord. In the appearance of a guard, Lord Shiva kept him from continuing further. Ruler Vishnu requested that Lord Shiva blessing Him the Chakra-disk. He revered Lord Shiva with thousand lotus blooms. When He found that the number was short by two, He unhesitatingly took His eyes for the puja. Satisfied Shiva compensated Lord Vishnu with the Chakra.
