Overview
In the town of Kalasa, Chickmagalur area, Karnataka, lies the sacred sanctuary ofVenkataramana Swamy devoted to Lord Vishnu. Kalasa is situated on the banks of the Bhadra River, around 92 Kilometers South-west of Chickmagalur. This sanctuary is built up between 1500 and 1600 A.D., amid Vijayanagar King's Rule. The Presiding god is Shri Venkataramana and the Utsav Muruty is Shri Srinivasa Devaru.
