A temple that cleanses Sins accumulated since generations- Kodiswarar Temple

A visit to the Kodeswarar Temple at Thiruvidaimarudur can cleanse sins incurred from all generations. There are about 1008 Shivas in this temple. Lord Sani and His Brother, Lord Yaman are seated in Shrines opposite to each other.  Chitragupta and Duruvasa Muni’s Shrines are also positioned opposite to each other. The Sani Bhagwan here is known as Bala Sani Bhagwan, there is a shiva linga on his head. Instead of his regular crow vehicle, there is a Garuda vehicle. Devotees pray here to be relieved of Mangu, Pongu and Smaranam Sani.  Kaveri River flows as Uthravakini River from south to North.

An early morning dip in this river on a Karthigai month Sunday will revive a devotee of his sins.  There is no shrine for Navagrahas here. No one can change their karma but the effects could be reduced by their intelligence. If people suffering due to their karmic effect visit this shrine their effects could be reduced considerably. Once when Kailasam and Thirikodika were placed on a measuring balance, this place weighed more and Kailash weighed less. This place is equivalent to the holy body of Lord Shiva, The Ganesha here is also known to be powerful.  Any Meditation, Homam and prayer performed here has thrice its benefit.
