Maham / Magha Sri Surya Bhagwan (Surya Narayanar)

Surya means the Sun in Nepal and India. He is one of the five deities considered as equivalent aspects and means to realising Brahman in the Smarta Tradition. His iconography is often depicted riding a chariot harnessed by horses, often seven in number which represents the seven colour rays of the rainbow. In medieval Hinduism, Surya is also an epithet for the major Hindu gods Shiva and Vishnu. In some ancient texts and arts, Surya is presented syncretically with Indra, Ganesha or others. Surya as a god is also found in the arts and literature of Buddhism and Jainism.Surya is one of the nine heavenly houses (Navagraha) in the zodiac system of Hindu astrology. Surya or Ravi is the basis of Ravivara, or Sunday, in the Hindu calendar. Major festivals and pilgrimages in reverence of Surya include Makar Sankranti, Pongal and Kumbh Mela.

Pooram / Purva Phalguni Sri Andal Devi

Andal is the only female Alvar among the 12 Alvar saints of South India. The Alvar saints are known for their connection to the Srivaishnava tradition of Hinduism, which was active in the 8th-century, with some suggesting 7.  Andal is credited with the great Tamil works, Thiruppavai and Nachiar Tirumozhi, that are still recited by devotees during the winter festival season of Margazhi.

 

Uthiram /Uttara Phalguni Sri Mahalaksmi Devi

Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of wealth, fortune and prosperity. She is the wife and shakti (energy) of Vishnu, a major god in Hinduism. Lakshmi is also an important god in Jainism and found in Jain temples. Lakshmi was also a goddess of abundance and fortune for Buddhists and was represented on the oldest surviving stupas and cave temples of Buddhism. In Buddhist sects of Tibet, Nepal and south-east Asia, goddess Vasudhara mirrors the characteristics and attributes of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi with minor iconographic differences
