Thiruvempavai was sung by Manikavasagar. The Thiruvempaavvai is a part of Thiruvasagam which was composed during the Marghazhi month, Paavai nombu at Thiruvannamalai. The Thiruvempai is sung by unmarried girls to get a suitable match. They pray to the Paavai (female god) to bless them with an ideal Husband.
