It is prescribed to light a new clay lamp, filled with Ghee, in Goddess Durga shrine on 7 consecutive Fridays. The number of Lamps should be increased as per the week. eg., 1st friday = 1 lamp, 2nd friday =2 lamps, 3rd friday =3 lamps,….. 7th friday=7 lamps.

No specific time is prescribed to lite this lamp. After the completion of 7 lamps within the succeeding week an abisheka is to be performed to the goddess and a needy couple is chosen and offered saree and dhoti. It is believed by doing this remedy obstacles in getting married is eliminated.
